KINGS X

Doug Pinnick is, sadly, proof that nice guys finish last. I remember interviewing him in the restaurant of the House of Blues in Chicago, and we had a great time chatting, both on and off the record. Helluva nice guy - and, he's right, Manic Moonlight has got some great material on it. (I still have some of the guitar picks his roadie gave me while I was waiting to get into the main hall.)

Funny thing is, I've been playing stuff off Dogman, Manic Moonlight and Faith, Hope, Love the last few weeks on "All Access".

Thanks, B13, for posting this - let's all hope that someone finally gives Doug, Ty and Jerry a real break.

I had Faith Hope Love years ago and couldn't get into it; I've been meaning to check out their other stuff. I remember reading an article years ago in Bass Player about Doug and his 12-string basses. Cool stuff.

Man I have been saying this since Day Fuckin ONE!..........KING'S X is the single most talented and underrated Band in History!!!............I'm sorry this is such total BS that these guys are not just fuckin HUUUUGE!
I've seen them on every tour since Silent Planet, and hung out with them numerous times. And they are the nicest guys you could ever want to meet.
They kick so much Ass live it ain't funny........Dug let me check out his gear when they played at the Living Room waay back and let me play his 8-String Bass!!!..........Scott, take KING'S X out on the road with THRAX (to bad it isn't that simple)!!!
I hope that they keep hammering it out and don't give up

Pick up OGRE TONES it is brilliant!
Then pick up DOGMAN which is also Brilliant!

Another band that falls into this category i think would be a chicago band called Local H. People say they sound too much like Nirvana, but i actually think they are better. They tour pretty much nonstop wherever they can play, come out with a album almost every year and still nothing. They got fucked cause of some stupid label merger and have been doing there own thing ever since. Now i wasnt a fan of kings x at all, but i can see where they are coming from. When you turn on a radio, all you hear is shit......to me its total bullshit.

Fuck, I really regret not seeing them when they came through town. I never heard much of their stuff, but I heard nothing but exceptional praise for their live shows on all the metal message boards I frequent. It's revolting to think that Ashlee Simpson (yeah I know easy target but perfect example) is playing at our 20,000 seat arena.

ive never bothererd with them, dimebag always spoke highly of ty tabor but i doubt i would like there music,i might dl some just to test them out...

I love his honesty and selfrespect.

"Christian music scene?? Yeah, we could have been maybe the biggest band in Christian music, but we're not hypocrites, and when the Christians find out that we drink, smoke weed and I am gay, they would turn on us anyway, so why go there? That just hurts. Besides that, they rejected us anyway after they learned who we were."

Hard times but they won´t deny who they are.
A sad story but life is supposed to be hard and pointless.

See this what I hear all the time!
People never listening to them but saying how they always hear nothing but good things about KING'S X........and I'm not pointing fingers at anyone either:)

I think allot of people only heard about them when MTV decided to shine their all praising light on them back during the Faith, Hope & Love period. And in my opinion that is one of their few weak albums. So maybe that's where the "turn off" came from?...........If anyone wants to hear what they are really all about (go see them live for one), I would highly recommened the following:

Gretchen goes to Nebraska
DogMan
Ogre Tones

A great band since day one. Amazing songwriters, hooks, melodies and heavyness that most could only wish to come up with. That made for some pretty sobering reading.
