Here is a band I haven't seen mentioned here... Anybody into 'em?

I reckon they're great. Particularly the HOT WIRE album! "Girl Money", "Bump The La-La", "Luv-a-Holic", "Hot Wire".... AC/DC wish they were still that rockin' in the early '90s!!

Also love Blow My Fuse!!! And Midnight Dynamite & Show Business are strong albums too... Hell I even like stuff on the first 2 strange sounding ones!! Body Talk rocks!

Hell yeah, I love that song and also 'Don't Close Your Eyes'. Never got interested beyond that, but those two are neat.

I remember when I used to but Hit Parader mag in the mid-80's. Besides the main articles and reviews was a section that holds small ads that look like classified, and Kix was always there (long before I heard the band). My friend Abraham and I always laugh because of the name and the fact that they showed in those ads. The final laugh was on me since I ended hearing them and having those videos too.

I bought the KIX debut at the same time Motley Crue's Debut came out. Its great hard rock!

Steve Whitman (lead singer) has gone on to form 'Funny Money' which sounds alot like KIX but not as good IMO.

Here is a link to his website which includes a link to some soundfiles on CDbaby so you can check out their latest release 'Skin to Skin'

:headbang:

Man that is just blasphemy what you said about AC/DC .. this band will never compare to AC/DC.. im surprised u said that considering your from Australia lol .. :yuk: :err: but on your question.. yeah i like KiX.. one of the few hair bands in the late 80's i liked.. but again they are not in the same caliber as AC/DC.. last i heard of them was when i watched a episode on VH1 of "Where are they Now? " ... the guitarist was a billboard painter LOL ... :tickled:

They were a million times better than AC/DC for me. I like AC/DC but they get old fast for me.

Trix, I've mention Kix a few times here, they are from my neck of the woods. Kix and Wrathchild were the 2 big bands from my area, have seen both many times. Back in the 80's Kix used to put on arena size shows in the small bars around here. My favorite album was Midnite Dynamite.

Like Roxx said, Steve fronts Funny Money now, a boring version of Kix. They play most weekends at some bar around town here. www.funnymoneyband.com

Ronnie Younkins (guitar) now has a band called The Blues Vultures that plays out all the time. They're pretty cool, kinda sound like early 70's Stones or the Faces. The new cd is pretty cool. www.bluesvultures.com

The last I heard about Brian 'Damage' Forsythe (guitar) was that he is in LA and playing in Rhino Bucket. www.rhinobucket.com

Donnie Purnell (bass) has a small home studio that he records local bands in but he does not play in a band anymore.

The original members of KIX (minus Donnie) get together every few months now a play a couple shows here and there.

I think Kix at their best are more rockin' than AC/DC... Mainly songs like Girl Money & Bump The La La just rock so fuckin hard!!! The comment was mainly comparing Kix in 1991 to AC/DC around the early-mid '90s (Razor's Edge, Ballbreaker) and I think Kix slayed them at that time. That said, Kix never released an album as strong as Back In Black, and AC/DC have consistently put out great albums for 30 years now.

Greeno I'm jealous! I wish I had got a chance to see Kix!
