M-Theory Audio welcomes another new and exciting artist to the label with Korypheus. Hailing from Ukraine, Korypheus is a dynamic force in the progressive and alternative metal scenes blending intricate riffs with epic melodies, with some metalcore and post-rock influences, creating a modern metal powerhouse.

“We are really happy about signing to M-Theory Audio. We know about them through our Polish friends in Varmia, who had good working experience with the label. Marco Barbieri, the head of M-Theory, has a wealth of experience. M-Theory has a loyal audience. People there are friendly and supportive. And finally, I’ll tell no lies – the US market is preeminent for any artist,” explains Korypheus singer Andy Gushin.
“‘Icarus’ is our first single from the album. It is a song twisting ancient myth into a new tale about futility and courage. It was shot in pre-war times but one can eel the grim atmosphere of what was coming. It was a premonition,” continues Andy. “The song was recorded at Revet Sound Studio. The video was directed by Maxim Lavrinchuk.”
“Icarus” will be part of a new album, entitled Gilgamesh coming this fall. An album filled with stories of times bygone and present. An album inspired by the heroic exploits of characters like Icarus, Gilgamesh, the Avatar and Odysseus.
Embellishing this album are the contributions made by a number of recognized guests including current and former members of Jinjer, Orphaned Land, Soen and Burning Witches throughout.
Gilgamesh will be released September 18 and is available to preorder now on limited-edition (300) copies Solar Wreath colored vinyl, jewelcase CD and digital. Get ready to embark on a sonic journey. Stay tuned for further updates, more singles and videos and the highly anticipated album.
