They have a unique grind to em, thinking about picking one up! Not sure if I'll keep it. I searched for some clips but most of them are 404'd!

Not playing anything really detuned over here, been a lot of cheesy 80's riffs with open chords!

I have one of the original models, before they made the Rev1+ or whatever. If you keep the sweep knob somewhere between 9-12 o'clock it can get some really cool tones. OD pedals in front really help IMO.

It kinda covers the middle ground between my 6505+ and Dual rec.

cheers,

I've been playing one for 5 years... the FX loop in the original one is horrible and mine has some pretty bad channel bleed (if the Master 1 volume is set above 0 it makes the clean channel sound like doodoo) but it's got a really unique voicing IMO and I dig it. It's also very unforgiving but if you've got a tight, heavy right hand you'll really hear it. I'm eventually going to replace it with a Wolfe head because of the design flaws affecting my live setup but it'll be a great studio amp.

Any tips on the sweep knob? I've always had trouble dialing the rev jr

I had it at about 2.5 with the presence/midstreble way up when I was playing a b.right guitar with emgs through a bright v30 cab, but now I have a darker guitar and cab and it was too muddy so i have it around 4.5 with the presence almost off... still experimenting though. The clarity/internal clipping of the emgs seems to blend nicely with the uncompressed, open sound of the krank. What guitar/cab are you using the rev jr with?

I find the best settings for mine are sweep at 3.5 (going by the dashes on the amp), presence at 11:00 (it's on the back of the Rev Jr Pros), mids 9:00, Bass 5 (dashes again), treble 12:30 (don't ask me why I alternate, that's just the easiest way for me to remember each one ;)) - I think the absence of the presence knob on the standard Rev Jr. makes it tougher to dial in

Here's how it sounds, and any complaints you have can be directed at the Duncan Alternative 8 pickup + the cab (see the link in my sig) that I used, but I think I made the best of it

I think I had it around 10/11 o'clock in the store with a mesa os slant and blackout loaded charvel. But at home I've got a 1960b and my KV2's

This sounds pretty awesome! Thanks for the info!

Played it for a bit longer today. Not really into it. It sounds great but it's a bit too spongy for my tastes.

500 shipped anyone?
