Lamb of God - The Making of 'As the Palaces Burn'

Thanks for the link man!

What was the "transfer problem"?
Did someone leave x-ray the reels or...?
I thought they said they used an outdated digital system to record?

I was wondering that also. I also thought, well if it can't be transferred properly out of the system they recorded on why not just hire somebody to fly out there and mix it on that system, or just force Devin to do it even though he really didn't want to

I also chuckled when they were scoffing at the fact that the old mix is completely triggered when it's really obvious the new mix is as well.

Either way, cool documentary I enjoyed it probably more than the new mixes :D

haha yeah, the triggering part....well.....^^

The whole way through the documentary with the background music I thought "well that sounds cool, why remix it?" only to realize at the end that that's already the remixed version
Just was hard to hear because of the overall low audio quality of the video, and the fact that I never really listened to the original album because of the audio quality.
Gonna pick this remix up for sure.

So, I don't get it.

They originally couldn't preserve the quality when trying to transfer the files, yet they dug up the originals and preserved the quality? 10 years ago is a little while back, but it's not like the technology wasn't there.

Devin couldn't just buy another computer to begin with?! Does not exactly compute......

Maybe they converted the sample rate and/or the bit rate too low on the bounce down? Was never explained very well there except 'loss of clarity' in so many words.

Just watched the video. Thanks for posting it. I thought the same thing you did when I saw him pull out the box with the discs. When they started mixing it and it sounded like garbage why didn't they just get the backups? Unless they were pressed for time or something.
