LAST IN LINE will begin writing material for its third album next month. The band, which features former DIO members Vivian Campbell (guitar) and Vinny Appice (drums), alongside ex-OZZY OSBOURNE bassist Phil Soussan and singer Andrew Freeman, released its second LP, "II", this past February. Asked in a new interview with Eonmusic what is next for LAST IN LINE, Vivian said: "Well, up until September, I'll be with [DEF] LEPPARD between now and then, but LEPPARD have a residency in Las Vegas in August and September, and we in LAST IN LINE are going to use that time — the days off when LEPPARD aren't playing — we're going to start writing the next album. We'll just get a rehearsal room and go in and kick around some ideas, which is good in a lot of ways, because we'll get a head start on the album, and it's good for me that I don’t have days off on Las Vegas, because I couldn't imagine that." He continued: "But then, we're playing a bunch more shows, and we're actually back [in the U.K.], and we're playing Belfast on November 29th; that's our first show. And then for another two or three weeks beyond that, we'll be in the U.K. and mainland Europe." According to Vivian, LAST IN LINE's recent U.S. tour was "fantastic. It's really been remarkable, the support, and the way that the album has been accepted and the band has been accepted," he said. "People are really liking where we're going, and a lot of the time you see bands who get together with some kind of heritage and they go out there, and people just want to ear the old songs; the nostalgia kind of experience, and then when you play new songs they want to get up and go and get a drink, go to the bathroom. But here, people want to hear those songs; they know the lyrics, and we don't take that lightly. We're very appreciative of that, and we're very fortunate that we seem to be striking a chord with the audience, and it's as exciting for, if not more for us, than it is for them." As with 2016's "Heavy Crown", "II" was produced by DOKKEN and FOREIGNER bassist Jeff Pilson. LAST IN LINE was formed in 2012, when Appice, Campbell and bassist Jimmy BainRonnie James Dio's co-conspirators and co-writers on the "Holy Diver", "Last In Line" and "Sacred Heart" albums — teamed up with Freeman. "Heavy Crown" was released in February 2016, landing at No. 1 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart. Initially, the release had been preceded by tragedy when Bain unexpectedly passed away at the age of 68 on January 23, 2016. LAST IN LINE, honoring what they knew would be Bain's wish to keep the band moving, brought in Soussan and committed to sustained touring in support of the album, hitting festivals, headlining clubs, and sharing the stage with metal luminaries such as SAXON and MEGADETH.
