Thanks for dropping by!!!:kickass:

I've been in such a musical rut lately that I needed to create something before my face exploded and I was forced to piece it back together and wear it as a mask... or eat it, :zombie: erm...
Anyway, here's a track I call Reconcile. The name suites it rather well being the end of the year and all that.
Guitars are pod xt pro big bottom with the 421 dynamic and 57 off axis panned 100% L/R (I think respectively).
Drums are ezdrummer as usual with no sample replacement. Instead I've tried a bit of eq and compression to give it a bit of shape. I'm sure most of you won't like it since it seems nearly everyone on this forum hates ezdrummer. :waah:
I left my bass back in the states so there is none on this track...
I've got a few more ideas for guitar overdubs to record into this to fill out parts, mostly background noises and things of that nature.
If you're already listening you'll notice there aren't any vocals on this either. Right now my living conditions are pretty tightly spaced with neighbors and all that and I like to keep the peace so no growling and screaming (yet).

I just wanted to show you guys something new (from me anyway). If you feel like commenting on anything thats cool and if not, that's cool too.
At any rate, here's my Happy New Year jam.

Reconcile link again

If i were you i would write the bass parts in guitar pro and then :

-either exporting the wave file of the bass part in guitar pro, using the RSE engine (=kinda instrument sim, instead of "midi bank sounds"), with the "pick bass", and then EQ-ing your bass in your DAW to make it sound better (by itself and in the mix)

-either exporting the midi file of your bass file in your daw and then using some kickass bass vsti like hardcore bass or something

I do the first one (as i tend to write my songs in guitar pro first... writing the guitar parts and bass parts together, and then exporting those in Fruity loops to program the drum parts) and i get a decent sound out of it (bass sounds kinda lame and fake alone but in the mix it's very decent).

Check this song of mine (unachieved though... needs some work on drums and need to record decent guitars (= tight + good sound)) to see how it can sound like :

Listening to your song at now ... sounds quite decent to me.
I don't like the "djenty POD rythm tone" you got here personally but if you like it it's ok. It's still a pretty good guitar tone despite of its "love it or hate it" voicing.

Drums are ok also... They sound very organic and rock-ish but they're very fine.

Throw some bass in there and let's see how it sounds.

First off, I'm really digging the song... the intro grabs your attention and continues to slap the taste out of your mouth repeatedly like you owe it lunch money.
Regarding the bass in the mix, at times I can hear it a bit and then others I can't but I can't say that its from your mix because I'm using my woman's computer to get online (mine's in a seperate room and will never be connected to the internet). Her speakers are some crappy factory acer's that came with the system so I can hear music but not really listen to it, know what I mean?

I use fruity loops as well to program my drum parts because nuendo 1 isn't compatible with ezdrummer (ver 2+ only)
I'll check into a bass vsti, there are some bass synths already in fruity loops but they're more just solid bass tone like you'd hear in dance or rap mixes, nothing with any attack (that I've found so far).
Thanks for the suggestions man, I've been wondering about this for a bit now and just haven't explored any options as of yet.

sounds cool to me dude, I like the way the drums sound, the cymbals and overall feel are cool, I like the feel of the song in general torward the end, a good vocal and bass line could really make this pretty cool

Thanks dude!!! I find myself liking this drum mix more than others in the past, I don't know if I've found what I'm looking for quite yet but I'm feeling like this is a step in the right direction for sure.
I'm kicking myself for not bringing my bass the more I think about it but I'm hoping I can find a nice bass plug-in like DJ suggested. Know of any good vocalists?
