Latest Mix Again: Melodic Metalcore featuring a guest spot from Gus of Volumes!

This mix got rushed a bit due to the anxious band, but despite them being happy with it and posting it, I'd like to work a little bit more on it because my ears were dead by the end of it. Tear it apart, tell me it sucks, or how to make it better! Enjoy.

Bass is wayyyy too loud and distorted. Kick needs more low end.

I'm not sure it's the bass guitar being so over the top loud as it is the higher frequencies being a little too apparent and having it poke out a bit. That, and I think the guitars are a little too bright. Kick definitely needs more low oomph on fresher ears and it feels as if the mix is missing a little bit in the 200-250 region.

yeah i can hear that distortion on that bass . if thats what you want then good. if your looking for twang then there is to much distortion.... what i try to do is make 2 bass tracks, one that is really HP and the other really HP.. then add SOME distortion to the LP track. that will give you great low end and pretty good distinction of notes.



as for the whole song... ive listened to it 2 times now... i love it.

the bass distortion sounds really annoying, its not a cool enhanced "clank", it sounds like the strings are hitting the pickups (just to give a objective point, i like the basssound on this recording ), and the kick is very clicky, its missing its thump.
