The author of the upcoming book based on late ALICE IN CHAINS singer Layne Staley's last five years of reclusive life has told Jason Bracelin of the Las Vegas Review-Journal that she was 18 years old, living in Seattle nine years ago, struggling with a drug habit of her own when a chance encounter with Staley would change everything for her.
