So...who the fuck is the best around these days?

The best picture I have seen so far is probably the Sony's or Pioneer Elite even though they are outrageously priced. Im not a fan of Sony brand though. Samsung and Panasonic make a sweet TV as well so it seems. Best price to performance ratio seems to be either Vizio or LG. Anybody know any shit about this fuck?

I'm spending way too much money lately as you can see.

To hell with TV. Spend the money on audio.
If you're thinking, "my audio shit is high-end enough as it is", you can always find ways to spend more :loco:

lol @ Ken singlehandedly jump starting the economy.

I swear by Samsung ... have 2 LCD TV's and 2 PC monitors from them ... none even coughed a bit since buying them.

bought a 40" Samsung for the inlaws a few months ago and about to get another one for my folks after xmas.

LOL @ Jonathan

Aurel, that;s probably where I am going to going to tbh. Samsung seems to be the "bees-knees." I was going to go with a 52", but the more I think about it, the more I think it's overkill. Probably settle for a 46"er and save some loot.

Once I make this purchase early next year, watch me REALLY jump the shark and start to get into Home Theater shits. Fuck that though...I hope.

I've saved up a good amount of money by being very frugal in the past 1.5 years and making alot more money than I need to be making, so it;s time for me to splurge and treat msyelf,.

I, too, use Samsung....but only because I can't afford Pioneer.
That and I've lost all interest in video.
I plan on getting rid of cable as soon as the special deal is over.

I sound like Adrian.

Yeah, Im gonna go with some 46" Samsung LCD HDTV They are fucking gorgeous.

Moving in the my girlfriend within the month and get that shit and use my BIC Venturi's as speakers for the Video. And Ill buy that kickass Oppo DVD player.

samsung is the way to go. ive got one and its been great for the 4 years ive had it. i also swear by their appliances. i own a samsung washer and dryer, no problems at all for 3 years. their refrigerators sell themselves.

good company samsung is

So, I ahve decided which model I want. Now I just have to decide if I want a 46" or a 52". The price difference between the two is $400.

Samsung LN52A650 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV
Samsung LN46A650 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV

I'd say approximately 8.5 feet or so.

Any good TV calibration DVD's or something?

have fun with this one ...

i woudl say 46 is enough, but sounds like you're going balls out anyway so I am pretty sure you will end up with the 52
