I do not really think these albums sound like Opeth, but they have a lot in commen in a similiar approach musically. So if you like Opeth you would probably like these albums. And they're a good start towards listening to some great music. I'm sure there are a decent ammount of metal musicians out their trying to emulate Mikael Åkerfeldt and have heard some bands, but I find it really bad. And have no desire to listen to bands trying to sound like Opeth.

Edge of Sanity `Crimson. Mikael Åkerfeldt does guest growls on this album and a guitar solo.
Agalloch. Started with The Mantle, then Ashes Against The Grain and Pale Folklore.
Tiamat `Wildhoney. Maybe The Astral Sleep, if you like acoustic guitar.
Nightingale `Alive Again. Bands most progressive album and a good starting point.
Novembers Doom. Any of their newer albums.
Green Carnation `Light of Day, Day of Darkness.
Enslaved `Ruun.

All I can think of at the moment.
