I have been listening to this song over and over and over again. Where can I find more of their music? Any other bands with that folkish element I should check out? Not too folky though... they still have to be fairly heavy...

That's my favorite song from them as well - it's really melodic and catchy and has really clear euro-slavic influences. Since it's their first and only EP, then there's not much except for the rest of the songs on Dzherelo. I'd suggest some Arkona songs (like Slavsia Rus or Vo slavu Velikim), has that similar flute playing. Try Kroda songs as well.

[EDIT] Skyforger songs! that's exactly what you're looking for! :D

Thanks! I'll have to check those bands out. I discovered this song through you after you'd replied to my post about Negura Bunget. You had said you were going to see them, how were they?

Great as always, it's the second time I've seen them without the old members(now in Dordeduh). The actual members are mostly their old session musicians, so the interpretation is still as good as years ago. Really amazing how they are now known in other countries. I posted some pictures on the concert thread.

Already guessed you knew about Viter from me, they are not very well known (they are more popular in my hometown). Hope they'll release their album soon (they announced it for this year), I'm looking forward to it.

in terms of guitaring and flutes, I'd say you might like Alkonost (but Viter being the far more obscure band, you probably already know them).

Viter cover Skyforger on their upcoming split EP; Skyforger are quite similar to fellow Balts whose newest album was one of the best of 2010, Metsatöll

and you should probably check out Kamaedzitca's 2008 album, Weeping Twilight's 2009 album, and Chur's 2009 album. All great Slavic stuff with clean vocals. Goverla's 2010 album might also be worth a look if you like Negura Bunget and Marțolea.

oh, and I'm not a huge fan of this band, but the song vaguely reminds me of Krov Tikae

as does this (similarly epic/melodic, but more raw in style)
