According to The Pulse Of Radio, LINKIN PARK's disaster relief charity Music For Relief has launched a mobile fundraising app that will allow music fans to support disaster relief and protect the planet by adding a small donation to their cellphone bill. Anyone with a smartphone can add a small monthly donation — as little as $5 — to their phone bill, then use the app to track how their donation is helping. Free for fans to install, the app allows donors to manage their contribution and receive updates on the difference their gift has made to relief efforts around the world. Music For Relief was founded by LINKIN PARK in response to the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. Singer Chester Bennington told The Pulse Of Radio a while back about its mission. "Natural disasters affect people of all races, of all nationalities, of all social standings — you know, an earthquake doesn't really care who you are or what you do or where you're from," he said. "It's gonna destroy what lays in its path, and we're here to provide as much relief as possible to the affected people of natural disasters." With support from the music community and fans, Music For Relief has already raised over $9 million for survivors of multiple natural disasters and planted over 1.3 million trees. LINKIN PARK is currently at work on its seventh studio album, due out later this year. Vocalist Mike Shinoda recently said that fans should "expect the unexpected. Don't expect what you've heard before." No release date has been confirmed yet for the new disc, which will follow up 2014's "The Hunting Party".
