Listening to some of The Oddyssey while preparing for this fucking hurricane

When I went on a cruise two years ago there was a violent storm far in the distance. I could literally see the lightning bolts passing and illuminating the clouds, tearing through the wall of rain as it came closer to the water. During the entire 2 hours of the storm I lsitened to Holst's The Planets over and over. There were times when I felt like Mars himself would come flying down among all the atmospheric chaos. It was one of the most exhilarating moments of my life.

Soooo, try to do the same during the hurricane. Or listen to DWoT and when the storm is at its max get on your roof and start singing LOUDLY.."I am god, I am king..."

:loco:

Good luck

huh? I wasn't really in the storm. I could see it though. The other nights I went to the highest point allowable for a passenger. There were no lights there and if you looked up all you could see were the vast skies with the stars just gazing back at you. Sigh, I can't wait to go again.

I know. I just love making references to stuff. It just felt kind of apropriate. (I say that for every thunderstorm. Its a bad habit.)

Hi, I see you're in Houston. PLEASE do make sure to let us know as soon as you can, that you made it safely through the storm.

In your area I know you guys have not dealt with as many hurricanes. I hope you filled the bathtubs with water, because it's likely your water could either get cut off or contaminated. If you didn't do this, and you do have to use city water, PLEASE boil it unless you hear otherwise.

Obviously you also want to watch out for downed power lines...even if you think the power's out, don't go near.

On the way home this summer we had to navigate by a hurricane. There's a safe side (which we travelled on), and the other can suck you in and destroy the ship. Even though it was the safe side, we were rocking as much as 30 degrees, which for the size of ship we were on was a lot.

More to the point, I hope you're safe, Josh, and that you make it through alright. F&J kicks ass.

i love the planets. i listened to the record and felt similar presences. great experience. i also have had many experiences while driving in storms and listening to the radio and hearing static noises that made such powerful music harmonizing with the lighting flashes and rythym of the windshield wipers. at moments voices would faintly speak in synchronicity with relevance to the situation. the vibrations from the planet earth makes wonderful music as well.
