Ninja Scroll To Be Adapted Producer Larry Kasanoff (Mortal Kombat) has bought rights to the 1994 Japanese anime Ninja Scroll and intends to turn it into an effects-driven live-action movie, Variety reported. Kasanoff is also looking at television, live-stage, video-game and music spinoffs. Kawajiri Yoshiaki's Ninja Scroll is a samurai sword-and-sorcery epic in which a masterless ninja-for-hire joins forces with a powerful female ninja after her team is destroyed by a monster, the trade paper reported.Kasanoff is chairman and chief executive of Threshold Entertainment, whose digital animation and effects subsidiary will supervise visual effects for Ninja Scroll, while another unit will create and manage the online presence of the brand.

I heard from a friend about this and sure enough I found this on a anime site.

I am still undecided if I like this idea or not.

I think they will dumb the story down a bit, for mass consumption, and ruin it.

However, some of the events that happen in the movie would look good. And I hope female ninja gets the fuck raped out of her in the movie as well.. But of course, they will chop that.

Well, if they make it in a more Crowching Tiger way rather than a mortal combat way, it has the potential of rocking.
