Living After Midnight

That was an okay cover. Disturbed is a band I have a love/hate thing with. I think if they got a new singer (ie. one who wasn't monotone) I would probably like them. I don't mind the odd song, but melodically, the band is very "meh".

Land of Confusion was cool cover.

I thought this was "meh." I like their version of "Shout" or even "Fade To Black" better than this.

Yeah but those are also better songs. Living After Midnight is a mediocre song to begin with. I think the cover was decent. Unless you're going to do a 180-degree with Living After Midnight, the song is the song. It sounds like Disturbed playing it and the production's good.

I like the soloing at the end too so... :p

Not much you can do with Living After Midnight, hard to improve it or ruin it.

I like Disturbed

I don't see the point of doing a cover song like this, unless you're going to really rework the song over, or highlight a lesser known song. Playing a verbatim cover of a song that everyone knows is pretty much pointless.

a) Using the drum intro to 'Painkiller' it's not even original. Saxon did it for their cover of You'Ve Got Another Thing Comin' and was also a bad move IMO.

b) The vocals of the band are less disturbing that what I expected , minus the intro would have been a pretty decent cover actually.

I dont get doing all the covers either, if I were a successful musician (LOL) I would like to do some covers but they would be more obscure than some famous artists best known work. We played LAM in our early 90's cover band and I hated it, kinda repetious at that time for me. Today I would accept it as a fun song for bar gigs.

Also, the day will come around when songs by Disturbed will be classics to that generation. Myself I think the guitar player has great riffs and grooves, along with the drumer, I rarely pay attention to bass players and I grew to like the vocalist. My drummer a huge old school Metallica, Megadeth and Testament thrash fan (in addition to Maiden, Priest, Sava, ect.) turned me on to Disturbeds first two or three CD's and I kept them in rotation for quite some time. I dont totally get the point of the "motherfucker" song but its a kick ass tune otherwise.

We do it from time to time. It's boring but anyone can learn it in 10 minutes (the drummer in about 25 seconds) and its easy to sing and play. Sort of like Paranoid.

Breakin the Chains :erk:.... Which I like better anyhow
Paraniod has a bit more memorization doesnt it, I only dabled along with another guitar player on that a few times ?
Then theres Aint Talkin bout Love :erk:
Whole Lotta Rosie :erk:
We did play Strange Wings and Cold Fire though, but the crowd didnt get it.

Was so happy when we quit covers... to get back on topic, sorta. I can't remember any of these 50+ songs we learned over the period and it doesnt bother me one bit.

We used to do that one too. Hard as shit to sing (remember back when Don was a singer to be reckoned with?) but I really enjoy playing that solo.

Oh that one. I though you were talking about the Pegazus song :loco:
