Local band (San Antonio, Texas) called Blotted Science. Saw them live and they kicked MAJOR ass. It's the bassist from Cannibal Corpse and the drummer from Behold... The Arctopus, the guitars are done by a a local guy. Really impressed with the production of their album and song writing. It's instrumental metal, reminiscent of sorta like CJWall/chimpspanner/Bulb's stuff I guess. Basically heavy badass music with no vocals. I don't remember the gear from the show, but I want to find out.

Anyway, thought some people might enjoy this stuff.

I thought it was hilarious that Jarzombek was refered to as simply "some local guy"......

Just kidding you, bro.
Yeah, this record kicks ass. I was salivating waiting for it's release for like the last year. I'm a big Jarzombek fan.

Also check out Spastik Ink!

Hahah, Ron Jarz local... good one Mike.

I talked to him like 6 yrs ago about doing some Spastic Ink with him...

Alex Webster told me about this project... didnt know it was officially off the ground.

Cool.

Yeah...he's in SA. Where I live...that's local. He is just some local dude...not anybody well-known or anything. My friend took a few lessons from him...all he did was shred the whole time. Total waste of time and money. But damn that Blotted Science shit is cool.

Just checked this band out, Suprised no one mentioned Alex webster. Would have probably checked this out earlier
He's the Man

the FIRST POST mentioned the bass player from Cannibal, and I just said "Webster" earlier.. so... there goes that.

i was listening to spactic ink when you guys were just stains in your daddys pants lol jk

seriously i always liked spastic ink and blotted science is basically like the super heavy version of it. it really combines everything i like in life. heavyness, virtousity, jazz, classical stuff, groove, balance, shredding, thrash... its like everything good in the world got thrown into a juice maker.

my own artistic goals is in this direction. like a mix of blotted science, tesseract, meshuggah, nevermore, dream theater, opeth, btbam, sol niger within. i know its a broad range but thats the type of stuff i strive for as far a when i write. though i've been a big slouch on the guitar since recording other bands takes up my time so much.
