LONDON QUIREBOYS Bring Back Vintage Rock with 'This Is Rock 'N' Roll' Through Sanctuary Records on February 19th!

In an age where trends & gimmicks rule the mainstream, few bands are taking the initiative to go against the grain, have a good time, and do what 'just feels right'. The LONDON QUIREBOYS have returned with a new album through Sanctuary Records, to give America a taste of what it's been missing for the past decade: good old rock 'n' roll!

Bursting onto the scene in the late 80s, LONDON QUIREBOYS exemplified what could only be described as gritty, blues-based rock 'n' roll, a style formerly explored & made famous by Rod Stewart and The Rolling Stones (and later shared by the band's contemporaries Buckcherry and The Black Crowes). This breath of fresh air in the strangled 'hair-band' era brought the band immediate favor with radio and led to being managed by none other than Sharon Osbourne. LONDON QUIREBOYS infectious rock anthems quickly presented the band with massive touring opportunities, opening for the likes of Whitesnake, Aerosmith, and their heroes The Rolling Stones! This high-profile attention piqued the interest of production guru Bob Rock (Metallica, Motley Crue), who spearheaded the band's sophomore studio album.

Hungry to re-awaken the masses to a since-forgotten art form, LONDON QUIREBOYS spent the past year touring extensively throughout Europe and Canada, resurrecting honest, good vibes and reminiscing the 'good ol' days'! The band's return was quickly alerted to Sanctuary Records who signed them immediately, and now the band is poised to bring the rock back to the States, charged with a super-charged, bluesy monument of an album, appropriately titled 'This is Rock 'N' Roll.'

The title cut will be the first single from the album, which impacts at the Mainstream Rock Panel on February 5th, and the album's release will follow on the 19th. Press is already raving over 'This Is Rock 'N' Roll''s potential:

"...it is good to hear some good time rock 'n' roll swagger and The Quireboys do it better than most." ~ Classic Rock Magazine

"...a strong and varied collection of songs that range from heart wrenchers... to stormers... They're back. And smouldering." ~ Kerrang!! Magazine

This is not a gimmick; this is not flavor-of-the-month;

THIS IS ROCK 'N' ROLL!!!

Always been a great R n R band.
Not quite as good as The Dogs D'amour though.

It did make me laugh when Spike twated Michael Schenker though even if it did end up meaning that the UFO tour was cancelled.

Tyla was on pretty good form on the pre-Christmas tour, although the solo acoustic stuff was a bit weak.

@ Lagoon, Spike got into a scrap with Schenker? Must have been fun for the Mogg brothers in either band :lol:

@ Dreamwatch, the whole scene's slowly re-emerging, slightly older, slightly less hair, slightly less energetic. But it's still rock 'n' roll. :D

@Diamond Dave - Yeah Spike had a scrap with Schenker at the Newcastle UFO show. He headbutted him and broke his nose. At the next gig at Manchester Schenker came onstage with "Spike did this" written on his forehead, a very messed up face and pissed as a fart! The show was awful and Schenker was trying to have a fight with Phil Moog onstage!
He didn't bother playing half of the stuff he was supposed to and got booed offstage.
The tour was then cancelled.
