Howdy y'all,

Gone on this site a few times under a different login, and I'd like to start of with a little shameless plugging:

Are you part of a new band? Want some publicity? How about a an honest review of your E.P. or gig?

I'm currently in the pre-production for a new youtube channel where I review music from new bands, as well as taking requests for other reviews from more mainstream ones. The reviews themselves are completely honest, if I like it it'll be a shining review, if I hate it I'll blast it into oblivion. Nice and transparent, simple as that!

Who can send me material?

Anyone! I have no major bias other than I'd prefer if it were a rock band, of any sub-genre. If you have an E.P. that you'd like me to review and its not rock, you can still send it my way and if I have a particularly strong feeling about it, good or bad, I will review it. This is just a personal preference - at heart I'm a metalhead ;)

Why should I bother?

Well, as they say, any publicity is good publicity. These reviews will be hosted on youtube, and you don't need me to tell you how popular it is. As part of the program I will be advertising to various forums, sites and in person at venues so I can guarantee that they will be seen. It just takes one person to get an interest in your band, find out you're playing nearby and say to their friends "Ohai, I heard a band I like's playing nearby, want a night out?" - that's a few ticket sales right there. And believe me, speaking from experience, I know why it helps to get those ticket sales for your gigs in the early days. Equally, whether I love it or hate it, at the end of the review I will also post gig listings for that band, guaranteeing that people will know when and where you're playing!

Who are you to judge?

Just a music fan really! Oh you want experience? Ok lets see:

I have ran a metal internet radio show for a number of years, as well as hosting a radio show for my student radio station and being their Head of Production. I also write for a number of gig review sites and magazines, and regularly put nights on around the south coast of the UK for both bands and DJ's. Ontop of this, my entire university course was on essentially film-making - so needless to say I know my way around the camera. Equally, I am a gigging musician myself - having played guitar for the past 12 years and been a front man for the last 4 - so I know my way round the stage so to speak.
As far as youtube is concerned, some of you might have seen one of my uni projects on youtube, gaining over 20,000 views, and its sister video (the same one released by another guy on the project with a lot more advertising) gained over a million:

How can I enter?

Well, initially, if you send me an email detailing a biography of the band and any photos you want to be seen that'll be perfect - afterwards, it would be preferable to send me a hard copy,i.e. CD. The reason for this is twofold really - 1) So people can see the art work 2) Sort of related to number 1, its so people can see the finished article that they will potentially be buying from you.
Once you've sent this email and I've got back to you, we can arrange you sending me an E.P. or if you're lucky enough for me to be nearby to you, we can arrange a meeting. If you don't have a hard copy you can send me, try and send me some artwork and digital copies and, if I like it, I'll review it regardless.

Please send review requests to: metaldavereviews@gmail.com

Hope to hear from you aspiring musicians soon
