Looking for a fresh set of ears (Real drums 6505+)

i'd bring the vocals up a tad, the guitars are drowning them out at some points, and please re-track them, they're really noticeably sloppy in the beginning :(

I've HONESTLY debated retracking it for them, not like the riffs are hard, it's just depressing to actually have to go that far. I suppose we as engineers have to add all "flavors of studio majick" eh?

As far as vox go I guess I could bump em like .5db or something.

The kick sound their drummer was pretty into etc. I'll swap the sample blend with something a little more "beefier" and see if he notices haha.

thanks for the input so far!

what i've noticed with drummers picking out their "favorite drum sample" is that they always go for the one with the most attack because that's all they hear in recordings and when you have that solo'd they think, "oh yeah, that sounds like as blood runs black lets use that!" when in reality the kick is just a shitty ass thumb tack being hammered into the wall. Like you said blend it with another and you'll be fine,

I'd definitely add some or more reverb to the vocals and drums. I'd boost some mids on those guitars around 950-1100hz. I'd also add a slight bump between 175-200hz on the snare. Hope this helps!

The guitars sound good to me, but a bit overgained, which isn't helping the sloppy playing, IMO.

The drum tones/samples all sound a bit plastic to me, but that can be a taste thing.

I take it this wasn't tracked to a click?

Also, I'd watch the mastering or whatever, the whole mix has a bit of fatiguing high mids/highs
