Looking For Guitarhack

well I'm trying to get in touch with him for Ken McLaren with Acme Bar Gig .com He wants to use some of Guitarhacks IR files and looking to ask his permission to do so.

that's a cool gesture of him, but i'm 99.9999% sure GH would be totally cool with it, seeing how he released them for free public usage!

Go nuts.

I tend not to read alot of PM's relating to impulses as I have gotten quite a few over time and became sick of "hey can you give me a link to blah, blah..." Sorry about that.

I'll PM you my Paypal address for a percentage of the profits. ;) :p

Thanks Guitarhack. I never thought about all the questions you get about IR. Seeing how popular you are on this site alone would suggest many many PM's on a constant basis! I'll pass the info on to Ken.

Give Shred a try at acmebargig.com It's not really an amp sim, but a new type of Virtual Amp! And see how your IR are being used along with others IR.

Again thank you for your time in this.

Thanks GH,
Grem asked me to pop by the thread, damn I never see you guys over here anymore..how is everyone?

Anyways, Here's what we're doing

Inside our new freeware suite Shred 1.5x, the convolver has the ability to use internal or external IR files. Some we have already built in, Like Ryan's(Catharsis) and Nic Beamso's..But others we were going to leave external. I mean we could build yours directly into the interface too if you want, but we thought that some IR makers may have a special site we can direct people to to download them... Perhaps ask for donations or something.
But if thats not the case, then we would like to add them to the install program and distribute them with Shred 1.5x.

Now the other reason why that would also be better is because Shred comes with a built in menu definition language. So, you can place the IR files anywhere you want and define a menu for them and their path and hierarchy become part of the shred interface..No need to navigate every time you want to change a cabinet, its like one click.
For example..Here is an image showing what I mean..

This is without using the menu definition language using Brohyms's 24 mesa impulse lib

This is the same library with the menu definition language

As you can see we've used the language to separate the impulses by mic

So, we want to make one of these for your impulses too..Of course you can also have multiple different libraries defined and a menu level of up to 7 deep. Spread through out multiple disks, basically the IR files can live almost anywhere except the web, but I think we'll be doing that for Shred version 2 so that we can host an online free Cabinet library...

Here's an example of Brohym's, Recab, and yours

Anyways so thats ok to distribute them..thanks..

I'll probably just build them into the interface

KM

Oh and if you want..The latest public beta is here, couple idiot things wrong still like changing a preset shuts the main volume off, but that will be fixed in the next release..
