Hi,

I'm really into old Leaves' Eyes (anything pre Symphony of the Night) and Xandria (pre Neverworld's End). I like symphonic metal, but I like the other stuff more.

I don't really know what genre it is, I guess I'm looking for folk metal with a female singer? Anyone know anything similar, let me know. Haven't found anything as good as them myself. :(

Try Midnattsol (they feature Liv Kristine's sister Carmen, whose voice I like better than Liv's):

And for something with more folk-, but less metal-influences, also try Bergtatt:

Two songs from their current album "Lagnadsoger":

Two songs from their debut "Røtter" (featuring a different singer and a nearly completely different line-up):

Thanks for the replies. Yeah some of this stuff is pretty cool. Was thinking more Lovelorn, less Meredead though. So I guess it's kind of like pop metal? I don't know...
