A complete and authentic vampire killing kit — made around 1800 and complete with stakes, mirrors, a gun with silver bullets, crosses, a Bible, holy water, candles and even garlic, all housed in a American walnut case with a carved cross on top — attained $14,850 in the Jimmy Pippen estate sale by Stevens October 3–4 in the new Natchez Convention Center.

Please tell me you bought that. Please.

My all time favorite movie! I've loved it since it came out and I've never grown tired of it. :kickass:

I'm also a big fan of Near Dark and of course Interview With A Vampire.....but there's a reason why there's this HUGE Lost Boys poster (the French version, so it says "Generation Perdue") hanging over my TV.

There's nothing like the staring gaze of Kiefer Sutherland to follow you everywhere you go in my living room.

Anyone seen Twilight yet?

I've never seen Near Dark, but I love Interview With A Vampire. I also like Bram Stokers Dracula starring Keanue Reeves and Anthony Hopkins.

I need my ass kicked for wanting to see Twilight, but I don't think I can resist. I think I'm going to drag my wife to the theater this weekend to see it, but she doesn't know it yet!

Have you or Derek seen it? If so, what did you think about it?

I've never seen Near Dark,

Wow. Very highly recommended. And besides, it's like an Aliens cast reunion. :)

Nope, not yet. Derek is kinda 'down' on it, since he didn't think the original book was all that great and there are many other books and authors that deserve their moment in the Sun at least as much as Stephenie Meyer does.

Besides...unlike many of today's vampire authors,* Meyer isn't a member of Derek's exclusive mailing-list for vampire/horror authors.

-=-=-=-=-
* since 'psychic vampire' Michelle Belanger is a member of the list, the phrase 'vampire authors' here includes authors who write about vampires, and authors who are vampires! :heh:

I'm going to go for the entertainment value of it. At first I was skeptic about it as well, but the previews look pretty good. I think the lead guy is a tool though. I really like Kristen Stewart, but they could've done better finding a "cooler" lead guy. Put it this way, he isn't no Keifer Sutherland in The Lost Boys! :kickass:
