Lordi

You won't be happy with this Blitz, but I've "got" both their albums, and yes, they rock motherfuckers. I love 'em.

Both are on my "to buy when I get the cash and then actually see them for sale somewhere" list.

LORDI Advance To EUROVISION Final - May 18, 2006

Finnish hard rockers LORDI have made it to the final — along with with nine more artists — of the Eurovision Song Contest after competing in the semi-final in Athens, Greece on Thursday (May 18).

Some 23 countries took part in the semi-final, with just 10 final places up for grabs.

Fourteen more songs already await at the final, and Saturday (May 20) promises to be quite a show — 3 hours 5 minutes in length.

The winners and losers were chosen by a public text and phone vote.

Hailing from Arctic Lapland, LORDI became a phenomenon in Finland with a platinum-selling debut album, "Get Heavy", in 2002.

Their compilation album "The Monster Show" has been released in more than 20 countries.

This is the first time Finland has made it to the Eurovision Song Contest final and LORDI's "Hard Rock Hallelujah" is probably the only heavy metal/hard rock song to ever make it to the contest's final stage.

 :headbang:

I haven't heard the latest album, but that is awesome.

Today's 'Tiser described them as a "Finnish death metal band", at which I chuckled and thought what a shock to the system it would be if a real death metal group showed up at Eurovision

It's funny when you consider how much they obviously owe to vintage KISS, that they've gone on record saying they prefer the non-makeup period. Didn't Bruce Kulick play on one of their songs?

They probably just like non-makeup era better because of the music, like most people. The stage show was always cool with makeup, though.

Yeah, I love how the Euro pop fags were considering them to be satanic and evil....imagine if, as you said, a real death metal band had entered.
