France’s rising rock star, Lucie Sue, announces her debut album, Battlestation, out August 29 via Sphynx. To celebrate, she’s released a kitschy, high energy video for “Ride The Wired Wild Tiger,” featuring Steel Panther guitarist Satchel.
“‘Ride The Wired Wild Tiger’ is an absurd tutorial on songwriting clichés,” says Lucie Sue. “It’s satirical and meant to poke fun at bands who just copy-paste from other musicians.. We all do it to some extent; we’re definitely inspired by what’s come before but subtlety is key.”
Shot by Rémi Capdeville in a dramatic Basque Country quarry, the video fully embraces over-the-top camp; imagine bargain-bin Power Rangers flailing through a zero-stakes battle with DIY effects that would make Spielberg cry. It’s chaotic, ridiculous, and brilliant.

Lucie Sue is a French songwriter, musician and vocalist par extraordinaire. A magnetic live performer already being embraced in her native France, with her unique musical universe and boundless energy, Lucie Sue is on her way to becoming one of the leading figures in French rock and metal. Alongside band members Mitch, Laura and Enzo, Lucie Sue is set to release her debut album in August.
This child of the MTV generation, raised on ‘90s rock bands, escaped to the sounds of L7, Metallica, and PJ Harvey, after her cello lessons at the Lyon National Conservatory. Passionate about visual arts, she became an accomplished art director. But, during the lockdown, she became known on social media with creative and funny cover versions, in which she plays all the instruments.
