So, choose one or two of your favourites and tell us why you chose that/those ones. I ask because I'm interested.

For me, I could spend hours naming lyrics that really appeal to me or that I just fucking love. To point out one I'd have to go with Pantera - Drag the Waters.

I'm a big fan of Anselmo's way of writing and yes, he's written plenty of lyrics that are "better" in sense of expressionable language, but this one is just purely in-your-face. In my interpretation it's about getting away with shit you should've been punished much harder with because of the person you are. "Halls of justice painted green"-kindof.

1) Angel of Death -SLAYER
2) Her Ghost in the Fog - COF
3) Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd
4) Creep - Radiohead
5) Thrasher - Evile

Those are the ones that really spring to mind lyrically, there are so many great lyrics that I would put in but the 1st 2 are just well written songs and 3 & 4 have a meaning for me personally and 5 is just a brilliant description of a fan going to a thrash metal gig and just losing it in the pit

Definitely love those 2 :D

From roots we touch the sky.

What exactly does this mean? I think I know, but I want to your other opinions......

Love the land and fellow man
Peace is what we strive to have
Some folks have none of this
Hatred and Prejudice

DOT.

About Life by Coroner is probably my favorite.

You! Don't know nothing at all!

Classic lol.

Anything by the Dead Kennedys.

Pull me under
Pull me under
Pull me under I'm not afraid
All that I feel is honor and spite
All I can do is to set it right
Dust fills my eyes
Clouds roll by and I roll with them
Centuries cry
Orders fly and I fall again
This world is spinning inside me
The whole world is spinning inside of me
Every day sends future to past
Every step brings me closer to my last

Dream Theater! :kickass:

I would type out the lyrics to "Through Her Eyes" by them, but I'd be in tears by the end.
Google em if you need a good cry.

A lot of Coroner songs agreed.

Dittohead - Slayer
This Godless Endeavour - Nevermore
She - Halford (I dare anyone who hasn't fallen out with their mother/other special someone to listen to this and not feel anything).

I'm sure there's a couple of Soulfly ones too but they have left my head for the moment.

Look at the controller
A Nazi with a social degree
A middle-class hero
A rapist with your eyes on me
Increase your masturbation, three
cheers for the Nuns you fuck
You'd wipe out spastics if you had the
chance,but Jesus wouldn't like it
No.

Pssyche - Killing Joke.
