Legendary hard rockers MÖTLEY CRÜE held a press conference earlier today (Tuesday, June 9) at the the Law Society in London, England to announce the details of their "final" European tour later this year, which will include a 200-foot roller coaster and the band's "largest production" to date. Joining the four members of MÖTLEY CRÜE at today's event was fellow rock legend Alice Cooper, who will serve as the support act for part of the tour.Video footage of the question-and-answer session can be seen below (courtesy of Music-News.com).Said MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee: "This will be the largest production we've ever done. One of the things will be a ginormous roller coaster, which goes out about 200 feet out into the audience and about 60 feet into the air. We've also got a new addition called the Crüesnest, and at the beginning of the show, we'll perform a number where a bunch of seats around the stage will rise up with us about 40 feet into the air as we're playing."After thirty-four years performing together, the 2015 leg of "The Final Tour" includes shows all across the globe. MÖTLEY CRÜE have just finished touring Australia, New Zealand and Japan. The band are currently saying farewell to the European festival circuit, having just laid waste to Sweden Rock Festival this past weekend and with two massive performances coming up this weekend at Novarock Festival in Austria and at Download in the U.K. before taking their can't-miss show back to the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.MÖTLEY CRÜE originally announced plans for "The Final Tour" by signing a Cessation Of Touring Agreement at a press conference in Los Angeles in January 2014, solidifying the end of their touring career as December 31, 2015. Since the announcement the band has been touring tirelessly to say goodbye to fans around the world.MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx said: "We think about everything we shared together; it's something very few people get to experience. We got to experience the highest highs and the lowest lows together. We've been best friends, we've been at odds with each other, and we've done stuff we didn't even have any idea was possible."Added singer Vince Neil: "The tour is kind of bittersweet. Sometimes I will be on stage, looking out and singing, and I will get a little choked up." Sixx also offered an update on the status of the long-awaited film adaptation of MÖTLEY CRÜE's biography "The Dirt - Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band", which was recently picked up by Focus Features, the art house films division of NBCUniversal. He said: "It's interesting, because, in a perfect world, the movie would have come out during the touring cycle. But almost by accident — or, actually, it is by accident — the movie is gonna come out when the band plays the final show. And, in a sense, for us, it is extending MÖTLEY CRÜE even farther. It's gonna be the end, and then the movie comes, and it keeps the music alive. So we're really excited about that. We've been talking about [releasing it] sometime next year. [It's] a rough idea, but who knows?! We don't make movies. It's our first time [doing] that, and we're learning a lot."
