MÖTLEY CRÜE kicked off its "The Final Tour" last night (Wednesday, July 2) at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. According to John Serba of MLive.com, the performance was interrupted by a 10-minute delay three songs into the band's set when drummer Tommy Lee broke the head on his kick drum. After making "a decent recovery," "'On With the Show' was supposed to merge with 'Too Fast For Love', but the band stopped dead in its tracks," Serba writes. "They restarted and powered through the number, [bassist Nikki] Sixx visibly upset and off his game, and [singer Vince] Neil looking confused. Then [guitarist Mick] Mars experienced problems with his monitors and guitars. "The preparation started over a year ago and is just ending with the final assembly of the biggest show we've ever had. "I would say this show reflects our love of being extremist. "The new song, 'All Bad Things', sounds great in the set alongside the classics and deep fan favorites. "The vibe of the tour is really fucking positive. It's a celebration and the band is tighter than we've been in years. It's also and honor to have Alice Cooper as our support act on this run. I can't imagine a better set of songs from the beginning of Alice to the final bow of CRÜE."The studio version of "All Bad Things Must End" was helmed by producer James Michael, who sings for Sixx's SIXX: A.M. project. Sixx in January said that that it's unlikely that the band will release another full-length album of new material and will instead make select tracks available via special projects in order to maximize their impact.
