how come? what´s the bad part? i need a new soundcard at home and the mbox seems to be the shit. found one Mbox 2 for 2000 SKR.

As everybody said allready in here, converters are shit. I still have to use the Apogee converter (btw, the only rack unit left in the control room). On it's own i get pops and cracks, not very often, but enough to piss me off. The pots seem to be very cheap, as the overall look of the unit. And it's USB 1.1, not 2.0

I haven't had any problems with my mbox2. If you need pro-tools this might be the cheapest alternative... But I guess if you buy pro tools m-powered + a suitable card from m-audio, you might get it just as cheap and it might be a better solution.
