MACHINE HEAD Finish Recording New Album, Prepare To Mix - July 22, 2003
MACHINE HEAD have finished recording their fifth studio album, entitled "Through The Ashes Of Empires", at Sharkbite studios in Oakland, California and are currently preparing to begin mixing the effort for an October 13 European release through Roadrunner Records.

"Yesterday [July 21] was our last official day in the studio, and everything went fucking excellent," guitarist/vocalist Robert Flynn wrote in a posting to the band's official forum. "We go to mix for 12 days on Aug. 2nd over in England with Colin [Richardson]. [We] master Aug 15th with George Marino at Sterling Sound [in New York City]. Doing photos this Friday with Alex Solca.

"Mr. Duce [bassist Adam Duce] -aka- the Lord Of The Low End Frequency, thru down some Bad Ass Bass tracks, and vocals over the last few days, you heard right!! We The Duce-ter back on the trade off vocals, and harmonies, and you're all gonna be jaw dropping-ly shocked at how good his voice sounds.

"[Guitarist Phil] Demmel came in and thru down solos the other day as well, and without a doubt, it is his best solo work the guy has done since I've known him, just fucking slaying the Metal dragon. I've always felt the best solo we ever had on an album was [former guitarist] Logan's solo in 'Spine'. Just a really cool, unique solo. Phil has thrown down a solo in 'Egypt II', now called 'In The Presence Of My Enemies' that is now my favorite solo EVER. KK Downing eat your heart out."

The Return Of Machine Head!!!!

How About A Testament And Machine Head Tour????!!!

You know what? I don't know if I can stomach another shitty rap rock album from Machine Head, I haven't heard any rummors about them going back to real metal, let me put it this way, I bought Burn my Eyes in oh what, 95 or 96, it was listed under heavy metal, I bought The More things Change when it came out, it was listed under heavy metal also, but was a far cry from Burn My Eyes, I bought The Burning Red, it was listed under Rock/Metal. it blew....a lot. Then I went to buy oh shit what was it called, Powercharger? I don't know, but it was listed under Pop/Rock, I didn't buy it. Really how do you go from Let Freedom Ring With a Shotgun Blast, to Message in a Bottle? BTW I happen to like Sting, I just didn't need to hear that song as performed by Machine Head.

If MH's new album won't suck then I'm all up for it! :headbang:

In that case it should be ONLY Testament/Machine Head! NO SUPPORT ACTS!

That way Testament could play at least 2 HOURS :hotjump::headbang: :hotjump::headbang:

I can't wait for the record. I hope it's good, and if it is , Testament / Machine Head would be cool. However , I would think Testament is gonna record after this europe tour rather than tour the rest of the year.

Please God no, not Testament/Machine Head...how about Testament/Exodus/Death Angel? Get some REAL FUCKING METAL instead of, uh, whatever the shit you call MH.

To give credit to Machine Head, when Burn My Eyes came out I thought it was right up there with what Testament and all the other bands that have stuck to their guns were doing at the time, I even went as far as naming it in my top 15 albums of all time, but the rest, well its just fucking shitty.

I don't think MH (a band that released 1 good album many years ago) deserves to go on tour with The Metal Gods (especially as co-headliners- they could only open for TestAmenT on some shows), even if the rumours about the forthcoming record being heavy again will prove truth. However, I think (but hope not) that the new one's gonna be 'heavy' in the way St.Anger is. Anyway, I think TestAmenT (after releasing the new album and having some vacation) should go on tour with some real, big and true metal band, like Slayer, Overkill, Iron Maiden, Anthrax (this one would be funny), Morbid Angel, Kreator (or Metallica :D) in order to promote the album in a right way (that always seemed to be a problem). Just my humble opinion, though. Even if TestAmenT went on tour with Kid Rock or POD I'd still go there and see them

I gotta cling to the dirtbox on this one -- he's pretty confident this one's gonna be good...

I DOUBT PHIL WOULD HAVE JOINED IF HE COUDLN'T ADD HIS BRAND OF METAL!!!

THIS CD HAS SOLOS AND LOTS OF LEADS..UNLIKE THE LAST TWO.

AND ROBB GREW HIS HAIR LONG AGAIN!

WE SHALL SEE!!!!

Long hair don't mean shit, I mean sure, my hair is long, but what deos that mean, it means that 10 years from now I will probabnly Scott Ian myself. If this new MH is heavy in a good way I might give these guys another chance, but chances are it gonna blow.

And Foul Taste of Freedom is not only a great record, but it fits todays America to a T.
