I can understand not liking Robb's singing, but I like it. Sometimes he is mellow, then he is "raging". This release is the bands best in my opinion. Check out what else I said about it. From the Machine Head myspace:
Guys, I've been following Machine Head since "Burn My Eyes" and I think "The Blackening" is just as good, or better. Personally, I think its the best thing the band has done. I love "Burn My Eyes", "The More Things Change", "Through The Ashes", but thought "The Burning Red" & "Supercharger" were a depature from Machine Head, although there are good songs on "Red" & "Supercharger". But "The Blackening" is phenomenal. I've seen MH live twice while touring for "The More Things Change" album with Logan Madder & met Robb & Adam at the "Toy Tiger"(now defunct)in Lousville,KY. Going to see Machine Head again in Cincinnati, Ohio @ Bogarts w/ Lamb Of God on April 5. "The Blackening" is the best thing I've heard in awhile and is like Machine Head's "Master Of Puppets". Hope to meet MH again.
The new Machine Head is probably an 8.5-9 out of 10 for me. I dowloaded it a few months ago and I'm still listening to it. The new single doesn't do much for me, but the rest of the album is great.
