MACHINE HEAD Guitarist Says Jamming With The Group Has Been An 'Amazing' Experience
MACHINE HEAD guitarist Phil Demmel (ex-VIO-LENCE/TECHNOCRACY), who officially joined the group in April, has posted the following message to the band's forum:

"I've been an 'official' member of the band for a few months now, so I thought I'd give an update.

"First off, playing with [MACHINE HEAD bassist] Adam [Duce], [drummer] Dave [McClain] and [guitarist/vocalist] Robb [Flynn] has been a great experience, but also my most trying as a musician. In all my previous ventures, I've pretty much founded. Wrote the music, booked the shows, organized pretty much everything. I'd never had to 'audition' before.

"Now, obviously, that is not the case. But it is a welcome change. Hell, I don't even have to do back-up vocs anymore, so I can concentrate on what I do.

"Now, jamming with Dave is amazing. So detail oriented it's sick. Plus, he knows all the old school covers. Adam slays me. Fucker is so funny. One of the coolest dude I know. I can't hear him in practice so I don't know if he can play or not. Playing with Robb again, well, for the sake of not gettin' all gushy, it's just right. very strange, the 2 of us just click. Even just fuckin' around we drop into harmonies and runs that just sync up. The guy is an incredible talent.

"The band had 10 songs completed when I joined. The [modus operandi] was to continue writing and line up the old ones on the chopping block.

"Needless to say, there was some chopping.

"The guys have been very receptive to my ideas in structure and after 10 years of throwing away riffs because they sound too much like MH, I've contributed a few that made the cut.

"I'll let Roberto explain direction and scheduling and all that.

"I just wanted to let you know where I was after a few months."

Phil's a cool guy. I'm glad he's in a band thats actually going to play shows outside of San Francisco.
I think his influence will turn these guys back around and turn them into thrash giants.
As much as I think it blows donkey dick that he's out of Violence, I cant blame him for one NY second for leaving.

I DO find it funny though how Blabber takes anything the band posts and turns it into a press release..... Phil's post wasn't up for 2 hours, and it was on Blabber....
