Madcastle “Texas Anger” (Independent)
review by Sickboy
review date: 6/1/04

Madcastle lays some real Texas aggression out on the table with their new CD “Texas Anger.” If you’re looking for the latest nu-metal/ Slipknot clone band, you’ll have to look elsewhere. Now if you’re looking to listen to some unpretentious, intense, unapologetic metal, with a smooth incorporation of heavy Southern style guitar riffs and vocals, then Madcastle is your band.

The “Texas Anger” CD features 10 tracks of extremely crushing Texas metal. Front-man Dale Tyler delivers a pristine vocal performance throughout with intelligent lyrics of human dissonance. Expect a brutal assault on guitar and an equivalent pounding force on bass. Percussion is blistering throughout—solid, inspiring, fluid—with snare and bass drum work that are surely to impress. Every song is listen-worthy, especially “Unfulfilled” and “The Nasty (Human Race)”. Madcastle is carving its own path, and beginning to establish itself as a band that can change heavy music for the better. Check out their new CD. Pick it up at a Madcastle show or contact them online. Listen to it, feel it’s pulse, and get in touch with your Texas Anger.
