Worth checking it out! Got the album today, listening for the first time. Cool stuff for sure!

And a medley of the album:

(personally I don't care for the first song on the medley, but the rest is pretty good!)

Very varied throughout the whole disc indeed. Love this stuff. Track 3 (Pescador) is pure traditional/folkloric Brazilian goodness. DSO fans will have their moment with "Puzzler" too.

While the covers EP sounds cool, I can't wait for their new double album. If anyone missed out on their debut album Unpuzzle from a few years back I strongly recommend checking it out.

9 year bump...

Brazil's MAESTRICK Release New Single And Video "Upside Down"

"... Brazilian progressive metallers, Maestrick, are excited to unveil their new single and accompanying lyric video, “Upside Down”, out now via Frontiers Music Srl. Watch the clip below, and stream the track here...."

'Upside Down' shows the “sarcastic prog metal” side of our band. Musically, it draws inspirations from iconic rock giants such as Deep Purple and Jimi Hendrix. We wanted to somehow bring those classic hammond grooves and open chords to the symphonic universe of someone like Danny Elfman.

From a conceptual perspective, 'Upside Down' takes place in the first few hours of night, where the main character's adult life begins. Everything has changed now, as much as he still sees the world through child-like eyes. He meets several night creatures who introduce him to malice and trickery, leading him to realize nothing will ever be the same. Altogether, the song is a progressive metal amalgam of colorful soundscapes and spooky atmospheres that you'd expect to see in a Tim Burton movie.
