Hey guys
My local music store has the magnitude 9 cd "Reality in focus"

I was about to get it but I didn't know much about them so a left it for another day.

I know that guitarist Rob Johnson is an amazing shredder up to even Mike Romeo's level.

I've heard some insane intro solo's and they are really, really cool.

But should I get the album - are they a sy'x copy or something more ??

What are your thoughts on this band

Good melodic metal.
Maidenish...

But, definitley not a Symphony X copy.

Rob is awesome! Shreddalicious!

Not really hard to find. Unless you don't like to order off of the net.
But it's a really good disc.

They've got a new one coming out late 2003, early 2004.

Yes, Reality in Focus is an excellent CD!! I loved the "surprise" track!! "Afterlife" & "End of Days" are my favorite tracks.

Yes, definitely go out and get it!!

I wonder when they're going to put out a new one?

Both Reality in Focus and Chaos to Control are excellent CDs, I recommend both of them..they're definitely not SymX copies. Rob has said that a new Mag9 cd should be ready by this fall, I believe..yay! :)

holy shit, there's a suprise track? i'll have to listen to that again... "Far Beyond Illusion" and "What My Eyes Have Seen" are my favorite from that AOR/prog metal album.

Rob Johnson's a super cool guy, I took a lesson through the mail from him once...hes got some weird ass licks. really great player, but unfortunately, it doesnt seem like Magnitude 9 is going anywhere :(

Fantastic CD, plagued by horrible production IMO.

The mix is low, theres like literally no bottom end to the mix as well. Its all mids and high's.

More balls, and low end, would have made this one of my all time fav discs.

YEAH FUCKIN YEAH

Thanx for the info guys, I went out and bought it.

It is soooo good. For sooo many reasons

1. The solo's are just unbelievable Rob's and Joe's shreddage is amazing
2. It is song based. Great melodic, catchy songs that is based on melody but not taking away the really cool riffs and instrumentation.
3. Corey's voice is great. The whole band rocks.

But why havent they got the credit they deserve, it seems like there not going anywhere- WHY??? do any of you guys know?
