Breaking news: The bass player of HammerFall, Magnus Rosén, will not be a part of the band in the future. This is all the information available at the moment, but expect an official statement from the band as soon as possible.

Damn the line-up was so stable, 4 studio albums and a live one. This realy is a bummer for me :erk: :erk: :erk:

Here's the official statement from the band members regarding the situation.

"Bass player Magnus Rosén has elected to step down from HammerFall to be able to focus on his own projects. While it is surprising, it's not a total shock to us since he has seemed to be unhappy with the situation in the band and on tour for quite a while. We wish him all the best with his future endeavors and turn our attention to the future, immediate and distant.

This will change nothing for us as far as booked gigs and other planned activities are concerned. Rest assured, HammerFall will continue blazing its trail just like before. The process of selecting the right replacement both musically and personally is already set in motion, and we will announce it as soon as a decision is made."

/Joacim, Stefan, Oscar and Anders

I read in another site that Magnus said he left because he wanted to pursue composition and other musical paths. In a nutshell he wanted more composition space and Oscar deny it, so he left (my guess). Eventually happens in lots of bands, it saddens me but I'm sure the Hammer will not fall that easily because of this :D

Maybe HF needs a little fresh blood... I haven't been impressed at all with the last couple of albums.

Actually I do, not really impressed, but glad with the results. Hammerfall is a band that plays the same stuff album after album, I expect that and I hope they keep doing it, same as Motorhead.

I'm not glad at all the way Helloween and Blind Guardian had changed recently. I like "The Dark Ride" but I didn't like the way they went afterwards, I like ANATO but I'm very dissapointed with ATITM. With Hammerfall I'm confortable with every album since the debut, all have memorable songs I enjoy and therefore they fulfill my expectations.

I would love it if HF could put out another Legacy of Kings, which is one of my all-time favorites. I don't have any desire for them to reinvent themselves... It just seems to me that they've gone on auto-pilot the last couple of albums & they're not giving me anything really exciting or memorable.

Apart from being a nice and funny guy, Magnus was also the best musician in Hammerfall.

I hope that he'll find/form a new band letting him showcase all his abilities.
