Major Serenity lineup change

Serenity announced, via their Facebook page, that co-founder, songwriter and keyboard player Mario Hirzinger is leaving the band. Apparently, he is not a fan of symphonic metal. I wonder how much impact this will have?

Its kinda dumb to ride on a coat-tail of something, you have no interest in.

People have their reasons. Famously, Nina Simone started singing in nightclubs so she could pay her way through conservatory. She sang songs she didn't like, and then she got popular enough that she could dictate the style of her music going forward. And even then, she was outspoken about the fact that she felt pop music was inferior to classical music.

This guy was in Serenity from day one, so maybe he's a friend of one of the other guys in the band and was not necessarily invested in the band's musical direction. Stuff like that happens all the time. I was once asked to join a CCM band by my roommate, and the only reason I didn't do it was because I got a job that would have made it very difficult to rehearse regularly. And I hate CCM and am very much not a Christian.
