I have just looked at www.martinwalkyier.com and read Martin's announcment!
If you are at all interested in what is happening in the Skyclad camp then take a look for yourself, because i can't quite believe it myself!!:(

I will just have to make the most of "Bloodstock".

Well, what can you say...?
I s'pose the rumours helped to soften the blow a bit, but still a bit of a shock.
Having read what Martin had to say, and then some of the postings on the Skyclad message board, I don't think there's much more left to say.
I have been a fan of Skyclad since their first album, and I will be interested to see what they are like without Martin. I am also interested to see what Martin gets up to!
I totally respect his reasons, and think it is a good opportunity to divide into 2 great bands instead of just one.
If Martin does read this forum at all, I wish you all the best for the future mate, I'm sure, whatever you do now, it can't possibly be anything but brilliant. Thanks for all your years in Skyclad, I was very fortunate to see you a few times and all left happy memories.
Cheers.
(p.s. maybe this should've gone on the Skyclad board, but that seemed a little overrun!).

The Skyclad board is overrun with foolishness at the moment, so here is not a bad place to be posting. Indeed Martin must do what is best for him and his family, and no matter what he does next we all know it will be special.

Martin is an amazing lyrical poet with far more talent than many bands who get far more glory/praise than they deserve.
