Martyr AD hails from Minnesota, where the cold does some strange things to people, judging from the sound of the band, it makes them angry. The band is a great five piece that, blends death, metalcore & hardcore, like Reese’s blends peanut butter & chocolate in their butter cups.
At the present time, metalcore, or “mallcore(as described by the metal purists),” are a dime a dozen, there is something unique going on with Martyr AD, that has the potential to reach a broader audience than their contemporaries. While the musicianship is above average for the genre, the vocals stylings are just what you might imagined, when I mentioned metalcore. The songs are superb & there's bludgeoning rhythms that will please the death metal fanatics & the hardcore aficionados. Overall a respectable outing by a green band, that with time begin will to evolve & find their niche.
