This past summer, FaceCulture conducted an interview with guitarist Bill Kelliher of Atlanta progressive metallers MASTODON. You can now watch the chat in two parts below.Speaking about his early musical development, Bill said: "When I first heard of METALLICA, that's when my whole guitar rig and setup totally changed. 'Cause as soon as I heard 'Master Of Puppets', I was, like, 'Holy shit! These guys are amazing. It's like classical music with electric guitars and drums.' And I really liked the subject matter. I liked the way the guys looked. I look on the covers and I see, oh, they're wearing MISFITS shirts and they've got ripped jeans. They don't look like rock stars; they just look like me. They've got the same old jeans on and t-shirts. And I just felt this kind of attraction to them. And, of course, I saved up my money and bought a Gibson Explorer, a white one, and bought a Marshall amp, and everything started changing then, 'cause I had real gear."MASTODON's sixth album, "Once More 'Round The Sun", sold around 34,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 6 on The Billboard 200 chart. The record arrived in stores on June 24 via Reprise Records. "Once More 'Round The Sun" was recorded in Nashville with Grammy Award-winning producer Nick Raskulinecz, who is known for his work with RUSH, DEFTONES, FOO FIGHTERS and ALICE IN CHAINS.
