OK, so taped a practice session and started messing around with a video editor program. There are some cool effects like 'blur dissolve' and 'earthquake'. I think I had more fun with the editor than the 100-degree heat outside. I also made a 'diamond plate' frame to surround the whole thing. This could be very slick if you really knew what you were doing with this. I'm just an amateur, of course, as you can tell!
