Matrix Reloaded IMAX..........

Just caught the IMAX presentation of this film tonight!! KILLER stuff. The fight sequences, which bored me the first time I saw this film, were amazing at 4 stories high and a football field wide If your town has the IMAX formatted version, do yourself a favor and go see it.

Dude, the one at Newport of the Levee (sp?) has been closed. The theater owners have not paid one cent to the projector company that leases them the two million dollar IMAX projector. I am pissed, but I got to see the first one there and Raiders of the Lost Ark. So that was pretty cool.

Imax pissed me off when they cut out some of movies to put it within certain time limit. No thanks to Imax for me

They have to do this. IMAX films, as you could guess, are on a larger format film. And to project that larger format, you need special equipment (like special reels). The reels can only hold so much film. Unfortunatly, when IMAX (or whomever) designed the equipment, they didn't anticipate showing films longer than 2 hours or so. Therefore, films converted to IMAX must be cut in order to fit on the reel. And it's very difficult to run two overlapping reels, so synching two reels is out of the question.

I know how film works and I am not worried about the specifics thus I don't care how big Imax is, I just choose not to see any more non original IMAX films there as I don't go to see the movies just for the glitz or awwwww effect of seeing it on big huge screen.. sorry, I am a dedicated movie freak :Spin:
