Matthew Barlow of Iced Earth

In the first place, everyone's got the right to do what (s)he thinks is the right thing to do...
I have to say though that I dont quite understand how anyone would quit a career such as singer for Iced Earth and prefere spending his time in some office and basically be some nobody again... but if he thinks it's the right thing to do, he doesnt leave us any choice than to accept it...

I was looking forward to seeing them at WOA and I doubt they're gonna find a new singer until then..

I am still shocked at that,I am gonna miss him on vocals, since he was the reason I got into IE

and I think Thanatos should lie down on an street and wait to die

From what I heard, he wasn't into the new album mentally. His vocals had no emotion at all. So instead of pushing on for loyalty reasons, I'm glad he stepped down. There's no sense in giving a mediocre performance or any performance at all if you don't want to.

I agree with Northern Viking, we cant do anything but accept his choice, tho I really liked his vocals and expected to see the live...not anymore. After 2 cancelled gigs it's kinda dissapointing, but I'm used to this I think, heh.

I'm sure they will find someone before too long, Barlow wasn't their first vocalist, though most would say he has been their best. I think he really didn't come into his own until the last album or so. Earlier on he didn't exhibit a whole lot of range, but on the last album he sure did. Maybe they should just do a Demons and Wizards album in the downtime. :D
