the saffire 40 - havent tried that one out.
i really like the standard saffire pres.

the liquid channels - i tend to use them a lot,
but to be honest, i tried all of them on guitars
and the only thing that popped into my ear was that the "old tube" really
sounds different (but not better...) while all the others are not matched
level wise. so you always go : oh yeah, there is more highs
on this channel while in fact its only a slight level boost...

what i do like aobut the liquids is the "harmonic" knob. it adds
a nice presence to overheads.

i will get another focusrite just for my second mixing setup,
the 24 dsp (i think).
