small intestinal layout isn't exactly the same in every person, although the general shape and placement in the peritoneum is fairly close. the large intestines is *suppsed* to always be shaped basically like an uspide down "U", however, some people have creases or folds that shouldn't be there (sometimes causing IBS). a little known fact is that the small intestines isn't just 'floating' inside that cavity of the body, but is rather held by many flaps and layers of thin veiny tissue to the back and front of the peritoneal wall.
that said, it isn't *all* that uncommon for people to have awkward and abnormal folds or bends in their small intestines. sometimes these are caused by eating disorders too.
