Megadeth's live sound engineer interview

Dude, you know that's a bought ad, right?

Not necessarily a paid-ad, just the latest press release from Midas. Roadrunner used to publish their Metal/Rock-artist-related press releases before. As well as those of countless other audio-equipment related companies...

^Intros to some songs I guess. Like on the new record there is a lot of stuff that could be "played back", you know?

Anyway, I meant to point out that it was a press release/pr article so I guess everything that's said in there should be taken with a grain of salt. ;)

Typical American engineer, .. Big digital console - hyper clean sound, mega loud.
Btw notes on desks;
Midas Heritage = monitor desk.
XL4 = awesome.

Not sure why he chose to use a regular snake.. Digital snakes are far easier to work with (but I have had equal experience with analogue / digital snakes) it's like using a studio on the road, virtual patch bay and everything.
Oh well, megadeth still sound better on record.

[btw - the desks should've been covered via a tent, and if not - then the desk deserves to go down. Any crowd will act stupidly and throw drinks. digital desks are also notorious for going down (certainly in the UK on massive shows).]

When I saw 'deth at "Priest Feast" last year, they had clearly the best mix out of the bunch (Priest, 'deth, Testament). Very clear and punchy. One of the best live-mixes I've ever heard.
