Melodic Death Metal

ugh. so many recommendations reminded me why I went off Melodic Death Metal...surprised no one has said Scar Symmetry yet.

Dark Tranquillity - Damage Done
Eternal Tears of Sorrow - A Virgin and A Whore
Kalmah - The Black Waltz
SuidAkrA - Emprise to Avalon
SuidAkrA - Lupine Essence
Insomnium - Since the Day It All Came Down
Saturnus - Paradise Belongs to You

In Flames
Dark Tranquility
At The Gates
Kalmah
Wintersun
Norther
Amorphis
Amon Amarth

I love melodic death metal, but could people stop starting threads for it?

Kalmah all the fucking way, dark lunacy, wintersun, catamenia, carcass, eternal tears of sorrow, infernal poetry, etc. it may not sound as you requested but is some of the best of melodeath for me.

Good stuff. Very melodic for death metal (but I don't want to call it melodeath because that's not the case).

I fail to see how people think Wintersun is death metal.

It really isn't. It's melodic extreme metal. But because there's no established genre for extreme metal with a lot of melody except for melodic death, people shove it in there. It's got more black metal to it...maybe melodic black metal? I feel like Wintersun doesn't really have the same characteristics as a lot of that stuff...it isn't particularly black metal.

Recommend me something similar to early InFlames and Opeth.

Similiar to In Flames
