Here is an old one for everyone from Memento Mori's third album, La Danse Macabre. Originally released in 1996.

Mike Wead on guitar and Kristian Andren (Tad Morose) on vocals.

There is a music video on youtube, but the audio seems to be messed up. So here is just the track itself.

Not sure if there are any fans out there of this band. I love all eras of MM especially the albums with Candlemass' Messiah on vocals.

Fantastic band, thanks for posting, it made me wanna listen to this album again.

Also check out the Hexenhaus album Dejavoodoo. Basically the same members of Momento Mori with a diff singer, less doom and more tech.

I think La Danse Macabre was the best disc they ever did, though I like 'em all.

Bob, Bob, Bob ... you know that's such a huge mistake on your part, right? ;)))) Why do I feel like we've had this talk a million times over the years? hahahaha

Okay, so ... Memento Mori ...

Debut album (Rhymes of Lunacy): one of the best dark heavy rock albums ever made! The inclusion of the best hard rock song ever written (Michael Schenker's "Lost Horizon" if you ever doubted) isn't just a band that does a silly cover of a song they kinda dig - no, it's very much a pointer for the entire album. Just like the new 2010 Spiritual Beggars, Memento Mori's debut album is an extremely heavy and extremely dark 70's hard rock album in a more "modern" setting (in this case, 1993). Sure, some might call it doom metal, but it's so much more than just defined by a sub genre - it's hard rock/metal all encompassing.

Second album (Life, Death and other Morbid Tales): incredible progressive doomy heavy powerful metal in your face! Sickest drumming!!! Eargasmic album!

Third album (La Danse Macabre): well ... changing Messiah out for Krille was an interesting choice, and it didn't really make for a bad album at all. Unfortunately I can't listen to this anymore due to personal issues that ruins my enjoyment of the music.

Fourth album (Songs for the Apocalypse Vol.4): the weakest album, even if Messiah was back. It seemed like it was just an album they "had to make" ... too bad. Still, they totally kicked ass live at that time!!!

sorry to hear that claus i have several records like that, but this one is a fav of mine. :) i think his vocals suited the progression of the music. \m/

If you liked this disc, and Kristian's work with Tad Morose and Wuthering Heights, check out this now-defunct band (if you haven't already). Fifth Reason was heavier and generally more proggy than any of the aforementioned bands; the second disc in particular was a bit more adventurous and had sort of a Nevermore-meets-Memory-Garden vibe. They are well-worth listening to if you're a fan of Kristian's vocals. It's too bad the guy is apparently so difficult to work with, and it's too bad this band never found an audience.
