The tone he got out of it reminded me of Mudvayne. This amp is pretty fucking good. The only downside was one of his 10" was fucked up. Didn't end up affecting the recording I just used the one diagonally from it, but still for a cab that pricey that sort of sucks for him. I'm sure he will just run it back to guitar center though.

I had him disconnect the 15 (er 18, not sure) because it just rumbled the room in a bad way.

He was getting rid of his old gear so I scored one of these today as well, it's actually pretty good as long as you don't run the compressor or the sonic maximizer part of it.:

I used a sonic max infront of a 5150 one time when I was recording in an older band with this one dude. He swore up and down it made it sound "teh br00tal" so I agreed. Boy, do I ever hate that guitar tone.

lol.

Does the unit sound decent though? Did he just give it to you? lol

I grabbed it for $200 and the thing is almost mint, he is pretty particular with his gear so it hung out in a nice rack for 4 months and then he snagged the titan. It actually sounds really good I was surprised. The opto compressor they stuck in it is fucking terrible, but at least it can be completely taken out of the signal chain. Same for the sonic max that they put in, that can be taken out as well. The parametric mid however is really slick.
