I'm looking for a database of metal info that I can use to make some GIS maps for a Cartography class I'm taking. Basically any data that has metal-related info and geography would be useful. This includes distribution and sales info per country...
I've already gone ahead and mined metal-archives.com for the raw counts of bands per country, but that's a relatively limited source (and is so dependent on reportage by the site membership)
So any ideas? Can anyone help with this?
More random info on the project:
It'll be a multi-variable analysis, comparing the number of bands per country to other factors like maybe GDP or development status, or demographics. Genre info would be an interesting twist too, to look at what genres come from where (black metal from cold places?).
